Karen loves what we have on our doorsteps, but feels we have to find a path serving both heritage and local need.
WHAT do you want from your town? Your village? Your community? I’ve had many conversations with neighbours, family and friends about how we view the places we live. Most of us, it appears, are passionate about our surroundings. The environment we call home stirs powerful emotions, especially when change is afoot.
Many of us have chosen to live in Bucks or Berkshire because of the beauty of the surrounding landscape: the ancient woodland, the gently rolling hills, the Thames, picturesque farmland and charming hamlets. We pay a premium for property to enjoy Mother Nature’s bounty on our doorstep, while still having easy access to the capital, motorway infrastructure, and airports.
We value the countryside and largely wish to protect it for future generations. We also appreciate good amenities: schools, healthcare, cinemas, theatres, swimming pools, leisure centres, shops, pubs and restaurants and more.
