THIS time of year, dear Reader, I don’t know about you, but I long for spring. Almost as soon as the New Year has rung in, I can’t wait for nature to start shaking off its wintry overcoat and for the longer, warmer days to be within sight.
There’s nothing to do but be patient. Patience, dear Reader. I wish it grew on trees. With so much change in the air at Margot and Jerry HQ, I seem to need rather more of it than I would normally.
February’s arrival usually signifies the four of us springing into action, making plans to install bouncing baby farm animals in nearby fields and giving the kitchen garden plot which has been awash with cabbages and sprouts a long overdue makeover.
Having finally given in to the idea of hens/lambs/pigs,Jerry, with his eyes raised heavenward, gets onboard with the plan and the girls and I become like a colony of ants marching to the first notes of spring.
