TRULY TREND-SETTING, BRIGHTON IS A HUB FOR CULTURE, QUIRKY SHOPS AND RESTAURANTS AND A PREMIER LEAGUE FOOTBALL TEAM
With an estimated population of 289,000, Brighton is a bustling city and one of the most attractive places in Sussex to live. Some evidence suggests it dates back to the Bronze Age and it is actually acknowledged in the Domesday Book as Brighthelmstone.
The city is known for its eccentric nature and was named the ‘most hipster’ place in the world in an April 2018 MoveHub report, just pipping Portland, Oregon to the number one spot. As the report highlights, the city is home to nine record stores and 125 coffee shops per 100,000 people.
The city is home to a number of iconic locations including its Grand Hotel, West Pier, Brighton Palace Pier and the lively Lanes. That, on top of recent seafront additions the British Airways i360 and Brighton Zip, make it a hugely popular place to visit for tourists from near and far. In August 2017 Brighton & Hove Albion played in the Premier League for the very first time, ending a 34-year drought for top-flight football. The promotion has brought crowds of around 30,000 to the Amex Stadium and the city for every home game.
