Miljen Aljinovic
Aquaponderings With Vlad Jovanovic

Greetings Aquaponderers. You may not recognize the strange, vaguely Slavic name at the top of the page as the usual one. Indeed, Vlad has been called away on an expedition to research ancient native irrigation secrets in a newly discovered Aztec ruin in Northern California.

I know what you’re thinking. “Miljen! That’s pre posterous!

The Aztec Empire never stretched that far North, nor are we foolish enough to believe that an ancient city containing mysterious and sacred shamanic secrets of native aquaculture could have survived undiscovered in the middle of such a densely inhabited and thoroughly explored region until the 21st Century!

How do I even pronounce your name, anyway?!” I understand your skepticism, but you must understand, the project is highly classified at the highest levels of our government.

Even by telling you this much, I may have put all our lives in danger. Besides, have I ever lied to you before? And it’s pronounced just like the seven digit number, and yes, that is pretty funny.

In the good Professor’s absence, I’ve been asked to sit in, and – much like a TA who, despite his utter lack of qualifications, has been asked to take over an undergraduate lecture course – discuss some things tangentially related to the subject matter at hand, while still falling into my wheelhouse of nothing to do with anything Vlad usually talks about. Specifically, we’re going to focus on the pondering. Perhaps it’s best to start at the beginning.

Several years ago, in anticipation of the Mayan Apocalypse I was sure would be visited upon us, I went gallivanting around Europe, volunteering on organic farms, trying to learn an arbitrary collection of skills I felt might prepare me for the post-apocalyptic wasteland to come.
