With a view of vigour and a union of judicial spirit, the ‘Indian Lawyers Association’ has taken upon the role of creation of a legal fraternity which spans over a 100 cities throughout India, LawZ hopes to form a wonderful partnership with the initiative.
Earl Warren once said, “It is the spirit and not the form of law that keeps justice alive.”
India is the most populous democracy in the world. The legal system of our country has evolved from religious prescription to a constitutional one. Post Independence, the Indian legal system has prospered to become an essential ingredient of the world’s largest democracy.
We are a country of 1.3 billion people living in a diverse culture with many religions, languages, customs, and practices. For us to live together as a society, we must have a strong law and order in place.
With a view to keeping the spirit of justice alive among the Indian society, it is important that the 1.3 million lawyers have an organization that unifies them and provides a platform across the country where members can network, exchange ideas, mentor, connect to create more wealth, and altogether strengthen the legal community. Indian Lawyers Association began its initiatives eight months ago when the founding president and directors behind it had the vision to build an organization to further the interests of the individuals engaged and aspire to be engaged in the legal profession.
The younger members of the profession benefit immensely from our platform because it is the only place in their city where they can rub shoulders with senior members of their profession. Here, they can find mentors, get suggestions, learn from others who have blazed the trail before them, and find full-time work or temporary assignments.

Builders Can't Force Buyers To Go For Arbitration
It is a well settled law that arbitration agreements do not bar the jurisdiction of the National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (‘NCDRC’) and other consumer forums. The issue was, however, reconsidered at length by a Full Bench of the NCDRC, in Aftab Singh v Emaar MGF Land Limited &Anr [Consumer Case No 701 of 2015] in view of the amendments to the Arbitration and Conciliation Act 1996 (‘the Amended Act’).
