Welcome to this month’s feature on improving 10 common technique problems. Few of us can own up to having no areas in their playing that couldn’t be improved. What’s more, rather than addressing these to eliminate flaws we brush problems under the carpet, where they stay hidden until we’re suddenly faced with the need to use them. This can cause stress and even embarrassment in front of fellow musicians. No one wants that, so in this article we aim to address key techniques and concepts that could do with a boost.
