After winning plaudits for villainous roles in shows such as Unforgotten and A Very English Scandal, Alex Jennings has earned a reputation for being able to play an excellent baddie in recent years.
He’s currently making another fine addition to his rogues gallery as Ted Day, ex-husband of the wealthy Julia (Julia Ormond) in BBC1’s domestic drama Gold Digger.
In this week’s episode, Ted is furious to discover Julia is planning to marry her young lover, Benjamin (Ben Barnes).
And as the tense drama builds towards a thrilling climax, Jennings suggests the middle-aged divorcee still has plenty of hidden layers we have yet to discover.
