Not content with creating some of TV’s creepiest chills in Inside No. 9, Steve Pemberton and Reece Shearsmith always like to throw in top-notch guest stars, too.

So far we’ve been treated to the likes of Jason Watkins, Tamzin Outhwaite and Philip Glenister, and this week it’s the turn of Line of Duty actress Keeley Hawes, popping up in a story inspired by Pemberton’s commute to work.

The former League of Gentlemen actor spotted a shoe by the side of the road and wondered what would happen if someone became obsessed with finding out where it came from and who it belonged to.
