To the rest of Walford, Rainie and Max Branning are living the ideal life. The newlyweds have got a thriving new business, a roof over their heads thanks to Jack and, if everything goes to plan, Max’s granddaughter, Abi, will soon be coming to live with them.

While viewers (and Phil Mitchell!) know the whole relationship is a sham, it seems the couple’s marriage is finally changing from a business deal to one involving some actual romance. But that’s all about to change when Max tells Jack the truth about his little arrangement with Rainie this week and, heartbroken, she packs her bags.
