Last year was one to remember in Coronation Street, with Nina and Seb’s attack, Fiz and Tyrone’s shock split, Kelly’s imprisonment and the dramatic sinkhole collapse just some of the stories keeping viewers gripped.

Can 2022 match up? Well, there’s certainly plenty of action on the cards for the next few months, particularly when it comes to matters of the heart.

A bombshell brings Abi’s world crashing down

A rare smile beamed across Abi’s face in November when, after suffering the pain of losing son Seb, she tied the knot with her ‘rock’, Kevin, and became stepmum to his lad, Jack.

But long-term happiness always seems to evade the mechanic, and Corrie boss Iain MacLeod promises that ‘another really challenging year’ is in store for the newly-wed, as her one-night stand with Imran Habeeb comes to light.

Abi, you’ll recall, slept with Imran in the wake of the shock acquittal of Seb’s killer, Corey Brent. Much to her relief, Abi recently learnt that she wasn’t pregnant with the lawyer’s baby, as she suspected. But she’s not out of the woods just yet…
