There has not been a quiet moment for Cambridge’s constabulary in ITV’s quirky crime drama Professor T. But as eccentric criminology lecturer Professor Jasper Tempest (played by Ben Miller) has helped Detective Chief Inspector Christina Brand (Juliet Aubrey) and her team crack all manner of complex cases, viewers have also been intrigued by worrying flashback sequences hinting at our protagonist’s traumatic childhood.

In this Sunday’s series finale, more is revealed about Jasper’s past, including his relationship with ex-fiancée Christina.
