Detective Inspector Jimmy Perez and his team face a tough challenge as BBC1 crime drama Shetland returns for a sixth series this week. A local prominent figure, who’s also married to another important local, is shot dead on their doorstep in broad daylight.

‘They’re murdered right outside their front door while on the phone,’ says Douglas Henshall, who plays Jimmy. ‘It’s obviously a big deal as they’re such an important person.’
