Make Way For The Youngest Deol

Every generation has a story to tell and the third generation actor from the Deol clan is here to tell his part of the story and carry forward his rich family legacy in Hindi cinema. As Pal Pal Dil Ke Pass hit theatres in September, we get talking to Karan Deol to know more about him.

One glimpse at Karan and one is instantly reminded of a young Sunny Deol plucked from Betaab, Sunny or Arjun. If you watch the film, Karan looks exactly like a replica of his dashing father in many of the scenes. The title of his debut film- Pal Pal Dil Ke Pass is an ode to his grandfather -Dharmendra's hit love song culled from his film Blackmail. Karan’s debut film co-stars debutant Sahher Bambaa and marks his dad Sunny Deol’s third film as a director. In the film Karan plays a young boy who runs an adventure camp and homestay.

Tough to be a Deol

As we get talking to Karan, what impresses us most about this young actor is his utmost sincerity & humbleness. Talking about his family, Karan says, “I come from a very grounded background. So for me, my family elders were just dad, granddad and chacha to me and not the stars that they are. Only when I went out was there a fuss around them or at times people would ask me “are you Sunny Deol's son?” it was then that I was reminded of my family legacy.” Sharing an interesting experience from his school life, Karan adds, “I remember I was part of a sports meet in my school when suddenly three boys from a higher class came and lifted me into the air and said, “Agar Sunny Deol ka beta hai toh apne aapko bacha ke dikha. I was so embarrassed. Infact even the teachers didn’t spare me.”

A mama’s boy
