Health is wealth. This is one quote we have often heard, often tried to imbibe and bring into our daily lives. Thus, our lifestyle should become a choice of necessity – it should center around how to avoid obesity and how to handle our health in a proper manner. And how does one go about ensuring good health?
We can certainly do this by taking a few definite steps; first and foremost, by taking charge of our lives and not falling prey to the temptation of eating as we wish. For this, we should try some self-governing tips. We should not indulge in too many sweets after we touch the forties button. We should try to control our hunger pangs – not necessarily by eating less but by eating sensibly. It is necessary to eat well and be full and satisfied. If this does not happen, we can start feeling irritable and angry. This should not happen. Our health, more often than not, is in our hands. We should accept and go by this one statement. We can try some self-help activities and not eat food which is unhealthy. Take the simple example of eating food items like beetroots. These are not used in most Indian households – they are consumed a bit in South India and somewhere in the western ramparts of the country, that’s it. However, all of us know the real value of this vegetable. When we do know this, we should turn around and incorporate it into our daily diets. Since it adds in so many nutrients and vitamins into our systems, why not go ahead and use it in our food? Such choices come to us when we read literature which is valuable to us……when we pour over good reading material. Also, it comes to us when we interact with people who have health as their first priority in life.
