Meet the blogger adding a twist to summer style from the South of France to Paris.
THE SARTORIAL TROPES of the chic Parisian woman are as well worn as they are loved. After years of dissecting the formula (classic + slightly undone + red lips), could there truly be any more to mine from a low-key, minimalist aesthetic such as this? In studying the style of French blogger Anne-Laure Mais, the answer is a resounding ‘oui’.
Based between Paris and London, the Biarritz-born beauty behind the eight-year-old blog Adenorah has a style as refreshing as an Atlantic breeze. The signifiers of La Parisienne are there, of course, in flawless cuts that fall away from the body just so, the seemingly unstudied balance of coquettishness and sensuality, and a tendency towards muted colours and prints. What is different, however, is a dose of what Biarritz is best known for: seaside glamour. A pair of Optic White sunglasses, a dangerously high-cut bikini or a well-chosen piece of gold jewellery are on high rotation. The success of her particular brand of sexy-chic is no doubt why the fashion editor has been enlisted by such brands as Leon & Harper and Jonak to collaborate on buzzed-about capsule collections.
