Like most of New Zealand’s best exports, we’d love to call Maia Cotton our own. The Mori model is the face of Bonds Intimately underwear range, and last year she made her Victoria’s Secret runway debut. Did you always want to pursue modelling?

No, not at all. Prior to modelling I took ballet very seriously. I planned on applying to the New Zealand School of Dance until my early teens when I was scouted. I absolutely love my job, though, and wouldn’t change it for the world!

How does it feel to represent your culture through your work?

I often get asked about my heritage and I always feel proud to say I’m Mori. I hope I’m making a positive impression and building a good reputation.

Do you have a beauty philosophy? My approach to beauty is to keep it simple and start with a good base. I like to make sure I drink plenty of water and always remember to apply sunscreen.

How do you keep your skin photo-shoot ready, particularly in winter?
