We flew two-time beatboxing champ Dharni back to Singapore from Poland – where he is now based – for an exclusive Diesel JoggJeans digital campaign. He chats with us about life, work and more
How did you get started in beatboxing?
I was trying to create music when I was kid, but found myself trying to imitate sounds with my mouth instead. I first saw Michael Winslow beat boxing on Just for Laughs, then I heard Rahzel Manely Brown, an American beatboxer who was beat boxing and singing at the same time.
What was your reaction to your first clip going viral on the internet?
It was a weekend in Warsaw and my friends and I celebrated my first million views by the riverside, where outdoor clubs are, opening a bottle of vodka and dancing in the rain. I was euphoric and it’s something that’s hard to forget.
What are your most memorable performances?
