Nothing surprising, nothing based on false achievements. One thing simply led to another. The appraisal of Sean Wong as an entrepreneur is to his own credit.

His eyebrows resemble bushy caterpillars and yet they frame his face perfectly like a picture. And it’s also a shame that Sean Wong doesn’t have as many followers on Instagram as he should have given his aquiline features. He says it’s simply because there’s a lot of drama online and he prefers to be “disengaged”. He plays basketball and his dad is a Chicago Bulls fan who dressed him in matching Air Jordan XIs as a child. Hence, his favourite sneaker is also retro reissues of the same sneaker. During our shoot, he was cheering on NBA Superstar LeBron James. He explained: “Don’t you want to see greatness?” The Cleveland Cavaliers lost to the eventual champions Golden State Warriors but it does provide some insight into the type of alpha males that he identifies with. He also adds Michael Jordan, Elon Musk, and Steve Jobs to that list. Individuals who constantly strive to go beyond what they are capable of. And that’s what Wong has achieved at a relatively young age. But at the core of his understanding – having moved from Kuching in Sarawak to Melbourne, Australia at the age of 14 – he knew that he could settle for less; he felt it too. That was the rationalisation the 29-year-old needed the conviction that everything was preparing him for something more. No one knew that better than he did. Commitment and discipline became his indirect relay to early success.
