Last year was the year the women of Australia roared. It was 12 months of rage and revelation - a tsunami of experiences - as women across the country stood up and spoke truth to power, demanding an end to sexism, harassment and discrimination.
And at marie claire's International Women's Day breakfast on Tuesday, March 8 this year, the nation's key champions of change were united in an impassioned celebration of the seismic shift they have collectively created. From workplace safety advocates Brittany Higgins and Christine Holgate, to journalist Lisa Wilkinson and actor Miranda Tapsell, to award winning sexologist Chantelle Otten and her partner, 2022 Australian of the Year and Paralympian Dylan Alcott, the panel was a powerhouse of progress that represented Australia's leading conversation-makers.
Presented in partnership with Kate Spade New York and supported by Redken Haircare, Fairtrade Australia and New Zealand and Laser Clinics Australia, the highly anticipated event at Sydney's est. restaurant became a magnetic masterclass in #BreakingTheBias: the theme of International Women's Day 2022.
From sexism to sexuality, the importance of representation for marginalised groups, and calling out power abuses, the mood was passionate and the inspiration palpable as the panellists shared the trailblazing path they have each traversed.
