We all dream of a happy, healthy, fulfilling tomorrow, but what can we do today to ensure those dreams come true? ORINDA AYIEKO has 10 bright ideas.
Often when we think about changing and improving our lives, we become overwhelmed because we think in terms of weeks, months and years. But if we looked at life as moments, hours and days, those changes and improvements would appear far more manageable. Think of it as eating an elephant one bite at a time! So here goes: 10 things you can do right now to make tomorrow a happier, healthier place:
1 DITCH YOUR BAD HABITS
Motivational speaker Jim Rohn once said, ‘Take care of your body. It’s the only place you have to live.’ In other words, if you want to live a long and healthy life (barring an accident, of course), you need to make changes now to ensure that that happens. It’s really not rocket science: Follow a good healthy diet, exercise at least three times a week, and say no to excess of any kind, whether it’s a second portion of cake or a third glass of wine.
2 COMMIT TO YOURSELF
Successful people often say that they are their own role models. The truth is, you have no one else to commit your success to other than yourself. If you stop battling external pressures of ‘keeping up’ with someone else, and begin working on yourself, you will soon realise that this advice is the soundest you will ever receive. You are your own competition, so commit to making yourself a better person, friend, worker, partner.
