Malaysia has for long attracted Indians to its shores. Both India and Malaysia share a cordial bond and also Malaysia is home to a strong concentration of Indian immigrants. Further enriching this bond, the culinary heritage these countries share, brings them even closer.

The contribution of the Indian community to Malaysian cuisine is enormous. Right from the preparation, methods of cooking and availability and use of prominent ingredients, such as local aromatic herbs and spices, Malaysian cuisine widely consists of adaptations of authentic Indian dishes.

With an effort to give the city an exclusive taste of what Malaysia has to offer in terms of their cuisine, Courtyard by Marriott, Chennai conducted a Malaysian Food Festival in association with the Visit Malaysia Tourism Promotion Board.

Specially invited guest chefs from Malaysia came down to bring the authentic flavors of their hometown, for a 10 say long celebration of Malay cuisine from 24th June to 4th of July.

Specialty

The festival was held at Paprika, the hotel’s popular Restaurant at Courtyard by Marriott. This restaurant has been serving its diners some incredible Asian fare including Indian, Thai, Japanese, Korean and even Vietnamese dishes. This festival highlighted the Malaysian cuisine and gave a taste of authentic Malaysian dishes beyond their obvious choices. The festival will subsequently will be held in JW Kochi in July and various other branches across the brand, in association with the Malaysian Tourism Promotion Board to popularize Malaysian cuisine.
