The World Coffee Championships, which took place at Expominas in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, from 7th to 9th November, concluded with Dan Fellows bringing home the title of World Coffee in Good Spirits Champion.
Dan is a three-time UK Coffee in Good Spirits Champion, 2016 UK Barista Champion and head of wholesale at Origin Coffee.
In the coffee cocktail competition, he created a hot designer beverage called A Message From El Salvador that celebrating the producers of El Salvador, a Kyushiki (which translates from Japanese as “old fashioned”) and a Caribbean Irish Coffee. Dan worked closely with his coach Paul Ross to curate the drinks and will seek to defend his crown next year at World Coffee in Good Spirits 2019 in Berlin, having already won the UK CiGS Championship for 2019.
