Andrew Tanner, design manager at Sainsbury’s Home, is a master at mixing eclectic finds, from vintage gems to modern classics, to create a unique home

Along-time champion of new designers, Andrew designed ceramics for his own company for 12 years before joining Poole Pottery. He now heads up the in-house design team at Sainsbury’s Home. Andrew lives in a 200-year-old converted post office just outside Leicestershire with his wife Suzanne, daughters Florence and Darcie Mae, and their dog, Willow.

Our home is all about mixing old with new.

We have old signage from Suzanne’s grandparents’ ribbon and fabric stall (they used to sell lace at local markets). It’s hung on the wall because of the beautiful typography. I also have a passion for hand screen-printed Cuban film posters and, of course, we have a lot of contemporary ceramics.

We love anything that has a story behind it.
