TILES
.
‘Large format tiles continue to be extremely popular. They’re perfect for creating an elegant and timeless feel. In contrast, smaller format chevron and herringbone formats give character and detail. In all cases, porcelains inspired by nature are still popular and increasingly we are seeing a move towards natural look stone, marble, onyx, and wood effects in soft tones and pale whites. For a more dramatic feel, dark floors in marble effect porcelains with beautifully rich shades can help create drama and warmth working perfectly with vibrant greens, inky blues, and fresh white.’
Mandy Little from Porcellana Tile Studio
‘2020 was all about mid greys and lighter cool tones. While they will remain popular, the mid to dark greys will move towards black while the lighter tones will push towards bright white marbles with stronger veining and colored onyx stones. Homeowners are increasingly using flooring to set the style and feel of their home. That means more options are needed and manufacturers are responding. Over the next year lookout for a return to nature with terracotta tones complemented by moss green and mint colors to evoke an organic feel while shades of burnt orange and russet brown will help create a relaxing environment. Just what we need after this year.’
