What drives you? Just before the start of the year, I had a conversation with my friend about resolutions. One of hers was to complete a marathon.

She asked me how I managed to do it, how I managed to keep waking up every other day before the sun peeked over the horizon for the three months leading up to the marathon just to put in the miles and hit the boxing gym every day for four months leading up to my amateur fight.

She had run multiple half-marathons but never took the plunge for the big one, and trained in a combat sport for more than a year without ever stepping into the ring.
