Perfection may be impossible, but it didn’t stop the founder of Brompton Bicycles Andrew Ritchie from spending the better part of 30 years on perfecting the folding bicycle. His successor William Butler-Adams OBE then spent the next 17 years to grow the small business into a worldwide phenomenon. Today, there are over 1,450 Brompton bicycle dealers all over the world, including the latest in Singapore at Funan. Last year, the brand also unveiled a folding electric bicycle that took over six years to develop. We chat with Butler-Adams on what it took to grow the brand into what it is today.
