Among His Many Passions is One That Ranveer Singh Doesn’t Often Speak About – His Love for Travel. He Lets Brunch in on His Adventures.
There’s always a spirit of restless, jumpy energy that surrounds Ranveer Singh. almost like he’s inexhaustible, caffeine or no caffeine (he’s admitted that it’s one of his addictions). It’s hardly a surprise then that his exuberance would find an outlet in adventure, the kind laced with lots of adrenaline.
On a recent trip to Switzerland, he made the most of the country’s icy landscape by doing the iconic Olympia Bob Run in St Moritz (the oldest bobsleigh run in the world), tobogganing down the slopes of Muottas Muragl and skiing, snow biking and tubing in Engelberg. “The toboggan run is the fastest in Switzerland, with 20 curves and a vertical drop of 718 metres over 4.2 kilometres. Going down the snow covered mountains and frozen lakes was one of the most thrilling experiences of my life. It’s one of the most beautiful views in the world,” says Ranveer, adding that he lives on adventure sports when he’s travelling. “I love them. The adrenaline rush is actually relaxing for me.”
Travelling becomes second nature to celebrities – shooting in exotic locales, trying different cuisines and if time permits, soaking in local experiences. For the actor, travel gives a whole new perspective to life. “Meeting new people, getting to know their culture, their stories and the rich history really excites me,” he says, adding that he loves to explore not just different countries, but India too.
