Jozo Simunovic and Filip Benkovic both played their part in Celtic’s Hampden triumph
JOZO Simunovic returned to action on Sunday following injury, when he replaced Dedryck Boyata in the second-half of the League Cup final.
The Croatian defender played 30 minutes at centre-back alongside countryman Filip Benkovic, and looked comfortable throughout.
The 24-year-old said a hunger to win trophies is what drives him on a personal level, and that winning silverware on this side of the year sets up the second-half of the domestic campaign for more success.
“After that, the feeling is good,” Simunovic told the Celtic View after the cup final. “No, actually, the feeling is amazing. Winning the League Cup makes for an amazing start to the season. We’ve won another trophy, which gives us a great boost and gives us a good chance to take the treble again.
