New Celts give their thoughts on life on and off the park

Letters From America

CELTIC’S Women’s team are in the early stages of the 2017 season, and it has been a promising start for the Hoops, with a 1-1 draw against reigning champions, Glasgow City, and a forthcoming League Cup semi-final clash with Spartans.

Amongst the new recruits for the squad are two players from the United States – midfielder Darcy McFarlane and defender Jaclyn Poucel, who are settling into life on and off the pitch in Scotland.

And over the next few months they will keep fans updated on what’s happening with the Hoops, as well as their thoughts on the dear green place, in the pages of the Celtic View.

For the first article, both Darcy and Jaclyn introduce themselves and give their initial thoughts on life as a Celt…

DARCY McFARLANE

I recently signed with the club as a holding midfielder after finishing up my studies and playing for the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in the United States. I am originally from the Bay Area in California, and have really enjoyed my first month or so in Glasgow.

Everyone has been very welcoming and nice so far, aside from making fun of my American accent! I actually noticed that the people in Scotland and the UK in general, are especially friendly. The team is a humorous group that likes to have fun and joke around, which I have loved, but they also know when it’s time to focus and compete.
