Scott Bain is living the silver dream with Celtic

SCOTT Bain’s loan spell at Celtic is due to come to an end at the close of the season, however the 26-year-old is hoping that his performances and dedication will have been enough to convince Brendan Rodgers that he should make him a permanent Celt.

“I want to stay here at this club and I’ve made that clear,” said Bain. “Since I signed here I’ve really enjoyed working with the staff, players and manager. I can see myself improving and fulfilling my full potential.

“The coaches, players and the environment at Celtic is what every professional strives for. I appreciate this opportunity and I feel I can really reach my full potential at this club, there’s no ceiling here. You can go as far as you’re willing to work and willing to push yourself.”

AT the start of the year, the thought of lifting the Premiership trophy was a seemingly intangible dream for Scott Bain, but this weekend he will achieve one of his lifelong ambitions which he maintains will only fuel his desire to realise his full potential as a Celt.

It’s been a whirlwind second half to the season for the 26-year-old who arrived at Paradise on loan at the end of January.

He had yet to prove that he was capable of thriving under the pressure that comes with playing for Celtic. He was given a baptism of fire, though, when, on the morning of a Glasgow derby, Bain was told he would be starting at Ibrox.

A 10-man Celtic side defeated Rangers 3-2 and Bain played a huge part in securing the famous win with some incredible saves. That day was all he needed to show he was more than deserving of his place in the squad.
