HOLIDAYING DURING A PANDEMIC DEFINITELY RAISES QUITE A FEW EYEBROWS, BUT HERE IS HOW I FUELED MY WANDERLUST AS SAFELY AS POSSIBLE.

It is rather a strange time. All these years when we cribbed about travelling, taking multiple flights and walking from one gate to another at airports, little did we know that we would actually crave that terminal walk one day that made us feel purposeful. All because of COVID-19, airplanes seem like a showpiece in a museum.

I work in Mumbai as a writer and an actor but decided to spend the lockdown and pandemic with my family in Amritsar, Punjab. And even though I was living every bit of my stay, when my friends insisted on the idea of a ‘holiday’ in my head, my instant reaction was ‘What? This must be a joke.” Clearly it was not.

Obviously it is important to stay safe and stay indoors, but after months of lockdown, as a writer and a travel show host I just could not confine myself anymore. And I am sure that all of you can relate to this feeling as well and are looking for a quiet refreshing escape.

After thorough research of places in India, we chose Goa as our destination for these reasons. One- it is close by, Two- monsoons were in full swing, and Three- Goa was not asking for any test reports at this time.
