Enter, homegrown label Aulerth, that is doing its bit to ensure your jewellery does not cost you, well, the planet. Founder Vivek Ramabhadran seems to be asking some pertinent questions about what really constitutes as the true value of a piece of jewellery in today’s world: the alluring glitter of its gold and gemstones, or the pollution generated in acquiring it. “I discovered that in the pursuit of perfection of a material, a lot of destruction is done to the planet. I find that strange, even antithetical in some sense,” Vivek says.
