Angel investor Jayesh parekh believes in making investments that not only yield monetary returns but uplift society too.
When the satellite industry in India was booming in the early 2000s, Jayesh Parekh added to the excitement by launching Sony Entertainment Television in collaboration with Sony Pictures taking on Rupert Murdoch’s Star group of channels. Two international media congloromates were clashing to grab a share of the lucrative Indian market.
Always the proverbial risk taker, Parekh’s nose for success led him to invest in various start ups across the world. After completing 12 years with IBM, he quit his job to start funding ventures from diverse sectors.
Parekh is a Managing Partner at Jungle Ventures, a Pan Asian early-stage tech and media fund and a board member of Sanctum Wealth Management, One Animation, Picdot (Flickbay) and Milaap. He is on the Board and Investment Committee of Aavishkaar India Fund II. An alumnus of the University of Texas, Austin and MS University of Baroda, he is an Entrepreneur-in-Residence at INSEAD; Member of TiE Angels and Indian Angel Network.
