JASON MERRELlS HAS starred in some of our most popular prime-time TV dramas, but he loves his current role in the murder mystery series Agatha Raisin.
You may remember him from his time in Emmerdale, Waterloo Road, or Casualty, among others.
Jason has also appeared at the Theatre Royal in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, which he describes as “a wonderful theatre”. He has also appeared on stage in Norwich, and he loves Thetford Forest and Winterton in Norfolk.
In Agatha Raisin Jason plays Sir Charles Fraith, starring alongside Ashley Jensen as the titular amateur detective Agatha, who solves murder mysteries in a sleepy Cotswolds village, while sporting a fabulous wardrobe and dangerously sharp wit.
The series also stars Jamie Glover, previously of Waterloo Road, as James Lacey.
Jason says: “It’s a great cast. It’s a fun premise to work on.
“I’ve worked with Jamie Glover many times in the past; we’re old mates.
“I worked with Ashley years ago, so I’ve known Ashley for years too. So when I got the job it was a no-brainer really, it was a really lovely call to have.”
Agatha Raisin Series Three is available on DVD and digital alongside the Agatha Raisin Complete Series One-to-Three Box Set from Acorn Media International
