It was one gorgeous summer and I had never seen a more radiantly beautiful Stockholm.

Though a frequent visitor to the Swedish capital to participate in travel and tourism fairs, to conduct seminars and workshops and to spearhead sales calls and marketing blitzes, every official touchdown occurred in harsh wintry months – considered by the industry gurus as the ideal weather to pitch, promote and push our lovely and warm tropical islands with hospitable par excellence hosts.

To be in the city during their brief much-anticipated summers, count yourself as utterly lucky. But to spend midsummer days in Skansen, arguably the best spot where outdoor activities, traditional festivities and joyous celebrations are held, you are absolutely and genuinely blessed. Alleluia!

And blessed indeed we were, for I truly experienced an unfamiliar, never-seen-before summertime Stockholm – which the city dwellers forever brag about.

In fact, I could not help but smile, for I honestly felt that everyone simply beamed with positivity and energy – Nordic magic that one must experience firsthand to truly appreciate.

Nestled in the northern portion of the globe, Stockholm is made up of 14 islands with 50 connecting bridges, all across the Baltic Sea. Surrounded by parks and more green spaces with hilly seasides, the center is peppered with sterling galleries and theaters, quality restos and bars and so much more. A city of varying perspectives and new ideas, the capital has cemented itself as the cultural, political and economic center of Sweden.
