Four-year-old Arlo Gleeson is thriving after receiving the precious gift of sound through a cochlear implant in her right ear.

Born with bilateral sensory neural hearing loss, Arlo was first fitted with hearing aids at just 3 months old.

But the toddler takes it all in her stride – and her mum,

Lauren, says the electronic device that stimulates the cochlear nerve has been life-changing for the whole family.

“Arlo is so confident and outgoing. She’s actually really proud of her implant and the hearing aid in her left ear, too,” Lauren, 35, tells New Idea. “There’s nothing she can’t hear anymore.”
