Sonia Kruger promised the housemate had a “big personality”, and Big Brother’s Marissa Rancan is certainly a larger-than-life presence in the house.

While some more cunning players might have chosen to conceal their true natures until properly assessing the lie of the land, Marissa was never going to be anyone but herself from the moment she walked into the house – even if it rubbed people the wrong way.

“I went in saying, ‘This is me. This is how I am. You can like me or not, it’s not going to worry me,’” the married makeup artist from Sydney tells New Idea. “If you’re trying to be someone else, people are going to see that.”
