MAKING UP FOR LOST TIME IS AT THE TOP OF TOM'S TO-DO LIST

Between the premiere long-anticipated of his Top Gun sequel, and being a guest of honour at Queen Elizabeth II's star-studded pre-jubilee celebrations, it's been a big couple of weeks for Tom Cruise.

But none of these events compare to the seismic shifts going on in his private life.

According to insiders, Tom, 59, is "seriously considering" extricating himself from the Church of Scientology - of which he is its highest-profile member and reported to be its second-in-command - in a bid to reconnect with his youngest daughter, Suri.

"Tom turns 60 in July and, as someone who has always been preoccupied with age, he's assessing his life and everyone in it," explains a close source.

Tom continues to have a close relationship with his eldest children, Isabella, 29, and Connor, 27 - whom he shares with ex-wife Nicole Kidman - but he hasn't had a “meaningful relationship” with 16-year-old Suri since her mum Katie Holmes abruptly left him in 2012.
