What was your inspiration to be a makeup artist?
During our college events and festivals, I used to do the hair and make-up of my friends. I would enjoy every bit of it and it compelled me to come up with unique looks. My mother noticed the spark in my eyes and asked me to consider professional hair and make-up training. And I did by first educating myself. The infinite possibilities in front of me made me dream and allowed me to discover my passion for the art. The smile on a client’s face when they walk out of my studio knowing that they are looking their best, gives me a high.
What is the education you gained in the line?
I believe that everyone has their own skill and style of working but, professional training helps in strengthening them. I have done a professional hairdressing course from the L’Oreal Academy; basic make-up from Christine Valmy Academy and advance bridal hair and make-up from Archana Haria Academy of Makeup. I have also done courses from international hair artist Georgiy Kot and Tamanna Roshan of Dress Your Face. Information that only industry insiders know is a crucial step in becoming a beauty professional.
What is your strength in make-up artistry?
I love doing photo shoots. There is so much you can experiment with and discover. Working and collaborating with different models, influencers and photographers help to build your portfolio. Pre-wedding photoshoots are becoming a rage, and are a lot of fun!
