Louis Vuitton’s legacy of savoir faire meets the technological revolution of designer Marc Newson.
ASSOCIATION IS A POTENT PHENOMENON. IT’S INSTINCTIVE and subliminal, out of our lucid control. Just as fashion comes to mind with the mention of Champs-Élysées, we draw the vision of the iconic Louis Vuitton Monogram when we think of travel trunks. It’s also how Marc Newson is the name that pops up when we talk about legendary industrial designers.
So when the luxury legend and influential designer announced that they would come together for a special project, our only thought was that anything they create would transcend all expectations. In simple terms, it would be epic. We were right.
After 18 months of development, the new rolling luggage is finally ready. It checks all the boxes: light, mobile, spacious. The lightest luggage in Louis Vuitton’s already impressive line of leather goods owes its minimal weight to the to the ultra-thin titanium layer bonded to a new type of self-reinforced polypropylene composite shell, which represents the structure of the luggage. Moulded in several layers of mesh matrix, its exceptionally thin and shock-absorbent qualities reduce the weight of the previous Monogram canvas bag by almost 50 per cent.
