Bennett Brothers Yachts - A Family Business

The 30 year-old, family owned and operated business is nestled along the protected shores of the Northeast Cape Fear River. Paul and Patricia Bennett founded Bennett Brothers Yachts (BBY) in 1986 in Stamford, Connecticut, and moved to Wilmington in 1989. Great storm protection coupled with deep water and high ground made the location especially attractive.

The Bennetts worked together to grow BBY’s worldwide reputation as fine builders of custom power and sailing yachts and meticulous craftsmen in restoration and repair work. When Paul Bennett died in 2007 after an eight year illness, Patricia Bennett forged ahead directing the business. She is determined to continue their dedication to serving yachtsmen at the expansive, 11-acre waterfront boatyard. At the helm with her is her son Connor Bennett, the next generation of Bennett Brothers.

Boat building and Service

BBY is expert in building custom sailing yachts and sport fishers in the 40foot-plus range, along with performance catamarans. The company works with each client’s own naval architect and interior designer and constructs each boat for offshore comfort and reliability, according to the buyer’s wants and needs. BBY’s solid reputation within the boating industry and community of mariners comes from its specialized marine knowledge and more than 100 years of combined experience in total yacht construction.
