As just one clinical example, in 2010 The Journal of the American College of Cardiology (JACC) reported a study of 249,846 persons over more than 11 years that concluded: “Anxiety seemed to be an independent risk factor for incident CHD [cardiac heart disease] and cardiac mortality. … The results show an association between anxiety and incident CHD with a 26% increase in risk.
