The transfer window is making January duller every single year

David Moyes commented a few weeks ago that he believed it would be far better if the winter transfer market was confined to a week or even a day as is the case in Italy.

And after the latest window I am totally in agreement with him after watching the media promote the worst fiction I can remember during my time in the game. It’s been shameful.

I refer, of course, to the thoroughly disgraceful ‘Andy Carroll for Chelsea’ story that dominated the headlines for days on end.
