Hina Khan

Our Girlfriend for December recently made her entry in a reprised television show, which made a lot of heads turn both on, and off the screen. Having been a goody two-shoes all her life, we catch up with Hina Khan as she gets ready to play a negative character for the first time in her career.

What are you up to these days? Trying to wreck havoc on television as I turn negative for the first time as Komolika in ‘Kasautii Zindagii Kay’. Besides that, lots of work related travel and a few ramp shows and events are keeping me busy.

How did Bigg Boss impact your career?

Bigg Boss gave people an insight into the real Hina that is I don’t shy away from voicing my opinion about what is right and wrong. I feel Bigg Boss also showed everyone how strong I am as a person and how strong my roots are. Being on national television everyday as the original Hina Khan also gave me the opportunity to dress the way I wished to, for which I got tremendous positive feedback and many style awards.

How do people change in the Bigg Boss house? After the show, is everything which is said and done in the house forgotten, or do people carry grudges?

I believe the house brings out the real you, in some way or the other. Having said that, it is also a well edited show, so you cannot trust each and everything that you see. Some people may carry grudges while others don’t. I believe in forgiving, forgetting and moving on. I did not speak ill of any contestant after the show and had no hard feelings for anyone. May they rise and shine, but as far as staying connected and being friends after the show is concerned, that is an extremely personal preference.

During your stay in the house, were you ever frightened, or rather frustrated as to what was happening around you all the time?

There is a storm of emotions that takes over you at different times. It is not easy to be locked up with strangers and that too away from one’s family and loved ones. However, it also makes you stronger. With each emotion that takes over, one needs to let it out and then emerge stronger than before.
