ROYAL ENFIELD IN INDIA CONTINUES TO BUILD THE BULLET 350 WHICH HAS LARGELY REMAINED UNCHANGED FOR MORE THAN 70 YEARS
THE legendary Royal Enfield Bullet is not only one of the most loved motorcycles, especially in India, but also has the longest unchanged production run of any motorcycle across the globe. Although the Bullet nameplate is more than 90 years old, the Bullet 350 has remained continuously in production since 1948. Originally, the Bullet motorcycle was built by Royal Enfield (UK) at its plant in Redditch, England. In 1952, the Indian government chose the sturdy Royal Enfield Bullet for its army to patrol the country's border. The UK-based company partnered with Madras Motors in 1955 to form 'Enfield India' to assemble, under licence, the 350cc motorcycle in Madras. The Redditch factory ceased production in 1967, which meant the end of the British Royal Enfield. However, Royal Enfield in India continues to build the Bullet 350 which has largely remained unchanged for more than 70 years.
