Before you have a great body, you must have a great mind. Build up your character and anything else you do will come together nicely. Logan shares with us his accomplishments at the age of 49, but his road is not ending anytime soon. He’s here to prove 49 is just a number and there are still much more feats awaiting a great conqueror.
the interview:
AMM - You took on bodybuilding at the age of 16. What was the reason you didn’t start competing until the age of 33?
Logan - I competed later because I wasn’t really interested in being on stage, I just wanted to look like I could. It was a visual thing more than a competitive thing for me. The competition bug bit me after my first show and I had to be pushed into it.
AMM - For those who don’t know, what does it mean “turn pro” in bodybuilding competition? What does one have to do to reach that level?
Logan - When you win a number of shows you have the opportunity to reach the professional level. For most it involves prize money for placings and winnings. For me it was more satisfying to stand on stage and compete with the athletes I was reading about just a couple of years earlier.
AMM - Were you always into sports when you were just a kid?
Logan - Yes I was always big on sports as a kid. I loved the big three, football, basketball and baseball and played regularly. I was also into gymnastics and martial arts.
AMM - How had you been managing financially through out your early bodybuilding career?
Logan - I was working as a personal trainer in the beginning of my competitive years so it was a good set up. At that point you’re pretty much always in shape because your prepping for a show so you become your own best advertising.
AMM - What shows or films had you done so far and had you done any speaking part?
