At Sue's School of Dance, the show still went on

DEER ISLE—On Thursday, March 12, Sue Senecal had a tough decision to make. Should she still take her 30 Sue’s School of Dance students to a regional dance competition that weekend at North Berwick High School? But March 12 was the day the first COVID-19 case was reported in Maine. Parents were anxious, and Senecal decided to cancel, she said.

However, a dance showcase was scheduled at the Reach Performing Arts Center that night. Since families were the only ones who attended the showcase, Senecal decided the show would go on.

“The kids had worked so hard,” said Senecal. “And they raised all the money to pay for competition fees, transportation and hotel.”
