Neil hails boss of his old club...
NEIL Warnock enjoyed a triumphant return to Elland Road – then hailed vanquished opponent Garry Monk his manager of the year.
Goals from Sean Morrison and Kenneth Zohore ensured a richly deserved victory for the Bluebirds and ended a run of six straight home victories for the Whites, who saw skipper Liam Bridcutt dismissed for two yellow cards.
But after doling out a masterclass in containment to his 37-year-old opponent, Warnock – who spent 13 months in charge of Leeds before leaving in 2013 – urged frustrated home fans to cherish the new man in the dugout.
“Garry’s my manager of the year,” said the 68-year-old. “And by a mile, really, because I know what it’s like here when things aren’t going well.
“The start of his reign – that was pretty horrible. But he stuck by his principles and he’s got a team playing really well.
“They’ll have days like this and I know the fans have gone home disappointed. But they’ve got to remember where they’ve come from.
