Back-rower Griffiths has always looked destined for international honours but some horrendous luck with injuries has stopped the 24year-old from adding to his one Wales cap.
But the former Wales U20s star was magnificent as the Dragons outmuscled last season’s beaten finalists in a blustery afternoon in east Wales.
“We know that Ollie is an outstanding player and he leads from the front in his performances,” said Dragons assistant coach Barry Maddocks.
“Today was another typical Ollie Griffiths performance because he was excellent. Getting consistency on the pitch is the next key thing for him.
“He’s been really unfortunate in picking up injuries but the way that he plays the game he’s physical and to the fore with everything.
