JOSH Turnbull has revealed he once turned down a lucrative offer to join a Premiership team in favour of trying to win more caps with Wales.

The chance came when the 33-year-old back rower swapped home region Scarlets for current side Cardiff Blues in 2014.

Since then Turnbull has won just three caps, taking his total to ten, the last two cameos off the bench in the 2018 tour of Argentina – the country coming to Wales in July, along with Canada.

Turnbull doesn’t regret the decision and is hopeful his stunning form this season for Cardiff will earn him a Wales recall.

Turnbull, who refuses to name the club interested, told TRP: “Before I came to the Blues there was an opportunity to go to England. I didn’t think it was the right fit at the time and I had aspirations to win more caps.
